Abstract

Background : Gastritis is a condition where the skin layer in the stomach becomes inflamed or swollen. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that the incidence of gastritis in the world is around 1.8-2.1 million of the total population every year. The incidence of gastritis in Indonesia still has a high prevalence. The Indonesian Ministry of Health stated that Gastritis is in sixth place with 33,580 cases. The results of a preliminary study at the Kuala Mandor B Health Center showed that the data on patients with gastritis in 2021 was still very high based on the order of the top ten diseases at the puskesmas, gastritis was in 3rd place with a total of 1101 cases. From the results of the study in the case of Mrs. S raised 3 actual diagnoses, namely: Acute pain related to physiological injury agents (irritated gastric mucosa), nutritional deficit related to economic factors, ineffective family health management related to the complexity of care / treatment programs.

Research objectives: The purpose of this study was to reduce the intensity of pain in gastritis sufferers in the working area of Kuala Mandor B Health Center.

Research method: Implementation of nursing care using a case study approach that was carried out for 4 days.

Conclusion: the application of deep breathing relaxation techniques is effective for reducing pain intensity in gastritis sufferers
